The “PEER” of “PEER Servants” stands for “Partnerships for Economic Empowerment and Renewal” and addresses the twofold strategy of PEER Servants to accomplish its mission of “strengthening the global church through economic development”.
Economic empowerment is what takes place in the so-called developing world as small businesses are established through the work of the PEER Servants’ partners and their entrepreneur clients. These small businesses provide a means for financially strengthening the entrepreneurs’ families, churches, and communities.
Renewal is what takes place in the so-called developed world as individuals who volunteer with PEER Servants partner closely with their brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world. They are renewed in their appreciation for and commitment to community, evangelism, and just experiencing and enjoying God for all that He is and all that He meant life to be.
From a business perspective, we see this type of “merger” as a “match made in heaven” – God has prepared us for each other, so that ultimately He can be glorified. |
