Charles Marie Laursa is typical of many women in Southern Haiti with very limited formal education but in dire need of some means of providing for her family. Through the Red Sea Ministry, the partnership between World Concern Haiti and PEER Servants, hundreds of women like Charles Marie Laursa are able to start simple businesses like buying rice from farmers and bringing it to the cities to sell, and then buying goods in the city and bringing them back to their villages to sell. By having such a business, Charles Marie Laursa hopes to be able to send her daughter to school and break the cycle of poverty in which she was born.
