Reverend Italia Pratt is a board member of the Haitian Community Assistance Ministry, PEER Servants’ partner in Nassau, Bahamas. HCAM focuses on the large Haitian refugee population in the Bahamas. Many Haitians leave northwest Haiti being told by boat operators they are being brought to the United States, only to be dropped off on the much closer Bahamian shores. The network of Haitian evangelical churches in Nassau is trying to respond to the need by providing an opportunity to start small businesses to provide for the refugees and their families.
