PEER Servants Partners’ Profiles

Four Factors to Successful Partnerships

Steps to Becoming a PEER Servants Partner

Steps to Becoming a PEER Servants Partner

If you are associated with an organization that would like to establish its own Christian micro-enterprise development program as a means of strengthening the global church and would like assistance from PEER Servants in this process, we’d love to hear from you!

First, it is important to note the following general guidelines for the type of organization with which PEER Servants chooses to partner:

  • The prospective partner takes the initiative in contacting PEER Servants or following up on an initial referral or information from PEER Servants.
  • The prospective partner is generally not a start-up organization, although exceptions will be considered - we prefer organizations with 3+ year track record of effective ministry.
  • The prospective partner would preferably have some experience in MED or at least some form of ministry showing concern for the physical as well as spiritual person.
  • The prospective partner must be evangelical in nature and committed to making Christ known; PEER Servants prefers those who are committed to strengthening the local church through MED.
  • The prospective partner must have a well-rounded indigenous board representing many professional disciplines, not overshadowed or controlled by any one person, family, or other entity, and that has proven greater concern for those benefiting from the organization’s ministry than benefiting the board members themselves.
  • The prospective partner would, preferably, have supporters or contacts who can join PEER Servants as volunteers in support of the partnership.
  • The prospective partner must be willing to pursue a financially sustainable model within a 5-10-year period of time from program launch.
  • The prospective partner must be (preferably directly, but possibly through parent, sister, or related organization if in a sensitive area to the gospel) relatively accessible to PEER Servants via e-mail, phone, and personal visit.
  • The prospective partner must be from a part of the world that can significantly benefit from MED and especially where such would strengthen the local church for more effective ministry.
  • The prospective partner must bring some form of funding element to the partnership - provision of at least one of office space, equipment, personnel, capital funds, etc.

The next steps then include contacting PEER Servants at Info, providing basic information about the prospective partnering organization, and responding to a series of questions PEER Servants associates will have with regards to the partnership. Assuming such a partnership remains mutually attractive to both organizations, the PEER Servants Board will eventually vote on the partnership, and formal PEER Servants services would soon follow. This entire process generally takes 1-2 years to complete to go from initial contact to program launch.
