Sri Lanka’s long civil war left many households led by women. YGro-HEED is walking with these women and their families in these post-conflict years. For over 15 years, HEED (Holistic Empowerment through Enterprise Development) has offered thousands of micro-entrepreneurs, 75%+ of whom are women, access to affordable credit and basic business training. The needs of women-led households in Sri Lanka are great as many of their husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons were killed, disabled, or forced into exile during the war. HEED now has unprecedented opportunities for growth in their program, and PEER Servants looks forward to continuing our significant support.
