Raising Support through Secure Online Donations

Do you want an effective way to significantly raise your support level for the Walk for Economic Empowerment? With secure online giving, you can send an e-mail to your friends and family far away or those close by whom you may not otherwise see and encourage them to give. Through a simple link within your e-mail (provided below), they can give via credit card or Paypal account not only to the Walk, but directly to your account. All of the transactions are done through Paypal, so it's a secure environment in which to give online. PEER Servants will be notified immediately of their gift, and we will notify you so that you can add them to your Pledge Sheet.

To increase your Walk support through secure online giving, take the following easy steps.

Step 1 -- Copy and paste the sample letter below into your e-mail.
Step 2 -- You may want to personalize the e-mail by replacing the greeting "friend" with the name of the person to whom you are sending the note. Do not send this note to a long list of people within the same note -- it's better to send it out separate to each friend. You can also edit the e-mail content to make it more personal -- just don't change the link within the e-mail (other than inserting your name, as noted below)!
Step 3 -- In the link within the e-mail, look at the very end of the link and you will see it states "firstname+lastname". Replace that with your first name and your last name, keeping the "+" sign between them, so "John Doe" would be "John+Doe" and the overall link would look like "http://www.peerservants.org/walkdonate.php?name=John+Doe". Do not make any other changes to the link!
Step 4 -- Replace the name and address with your name and address (hold on to the checks you receive and submit them with your Registration Sheet the day of the Walk); also, replace "Your Name" with your name at the end of the e-mail.
Step 5 -- Send the e-mail to as many of your friends, family members, coworkers, etc. as possible (one at a time!) so that you can meet or exceed your goal. When they click on the link, they'll be brought to Paypal and can give through their PayPal account or, if they don't have a Paypal account, directly with their credit card. PEER Servants will be notified of their contribution and we will notify you so that you can include them on your Pledge Sheet.

Thanks for your support of the Walk for Economic Empowerment and using this tool to significantly increase your support. God bless!

Sample E-mail (Copy and Paste into your e-mail and make the changes noted above)

Dear Friend,

I hope you are enjoying the summer and are doing well!

I am closing my summer with an event I am really looking forward to -- the Walk for Economic Empowerment, to be held Saturday, September 27 around Lake Quannopowitt in Wakefield, Massachusetts. As you may know, around half of the people in our world live on less than $2 per day. It's a much different world than most of us know, but it's a world I am reaching out to by volunteering with a micro-enterprise development organization called PEER Servants (www.peerservants.org). Micro-enterprise development provides small amounts (often less than $200) in loan capital and basic business training to the materially poor to start their own small businesses through which they can provide for their families and become agents of transformation in their communities. PEER Servants is sponsoring the Walk and 100% of the proceeds from the Walk will go to provide capital to start small businesses through their network of partners in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

Can I count on you to make a donation and support me in the Walk? If so, you have two options on how to give:

1) Click on this link and give via credit card or your Paypal account. It's all done through Paypal, so your online giving is secure. As you'll see when you click on this link, your donation will be credited to my account. Then PEER Servants will let me know you have donated and will notify me so that I can add you to my Pledge Sheet!

http://www.peerservants.org/walkdonate.php?name=firstname+lastname

2) Send me a check made out to "PEER Servants" and mail it to my home address, which is:
Name
Address
City, State, Zip

In either case, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt from PEER Servants along with their thanks for joining me in making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than us.

Thanks for considering supporting me in this!   I am excited to be able to do something that will help the materially poor in our world and know that I will be blessed by doing it as well!

With much appreciation,
