Seized to Be An Evil Overcomer

Key Verse

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 (NIV)

Short Reflection

There’s lots of evil in our world today. Our PEER Servants global family has felt this very acutely in these recent weeks given our partnership ties to Sri Lanka. Often the evil is much closer to home, and perhaps at times we need to confess that we are capable of or complicit in evil as well. Evil can easily discourage you and lead you to want to retreat into your own fortress. There was lots of evil in Paul’s day as well. Paul encourages the Church in Rome to not be overcome by it – in fact, he goes even further to encourage the Roman followers of Jesus to overcome the evil with goodness. Paul’s words transcend time. Jesus has seized you to do amazing good and given you the power through His Holy Spirit to do things you never thought imaginable. Pray for His power to be at work in and through you, and remember His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Jesus has seized you to be an evil overcomer!
