Seized to Be A Life Loser

“Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”

Short Reflection

“You’re a real loser!” No one likes to hear those words coming from anyone, unless they come from Jesus. As the above quote from Jesus would suggest, losing our lives for His sake is EXACTLY what He wants. Why? Because He knows then and only then is when we will experience the life He came to give us, the abundant life, life to the full. Eternal life is much deeper and richer than just life that goes on forever, and eternal life comes when you allow Jesus to become your King, embrace His amazing kingdom, experience that kingdom to the full, and then join Him in extending that kingdom to others. So, go ahead. Take the plunge. Become a life loser. When you do it for Jesus’ sake, you will find life in a way you never experienced before. When you listen to His words and start to do them, as inverted as they are to the standard of our day, eternal life will be yours, and you will find Jesus using your refreshingly radical life of a loser to extend eternal life to many others as well.
