Seized to Be A Life Sharer

Key Verse

Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.
1 Thessalonians 2:8b (NIV)

Short Reflection

Jesus has seized you to love those around you and those not around you. To love them deeply, lavishly. To love them like Jesus loved.

What happens when you love someone like that? You delight in sharing with them the gospel – this amazingly good news that the kingdom of heaven can be experienced by them materially, socially, and spiritually right here on earth. You put aside whatever it may be (especially your pride or fear) that otherwise keeps you from sharing such good news.

Your delight does not end with words. Your desire to see others experience the kingdom is so great that you share with them your very life. Your time. Your possessions. Even your own security. You embrace self-denial. You celebrate others. You take great joy in them.

What happens when you love someone like that? Just like Paul did in the first century, you start to change the world, and you catalyze others to join you in changing the world, and soon the world will never be the same. Now, some 2,000 years later, our world is still blessed by the dividends of the way Paul shared his very life with those he loved. As you give your life away by lavishly loving others, you, too, can bless generations to come.

Jesus has seized you to be a life sharer!
