Seized to Be One with Beautiful Feet
Key Verse
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Isaiah 52:7 (NIV)
Short Reflection
Feet are probably not the part of the body that ranks highest when you think of what is beautiful. Perhaps God designed feet the way they are to keep us humble.
So, if it’s not their appearance that makes feet beautiful, what is it? According to the prophet Isaiah, it’s how they are used. When one brings good news, proclaims peace, brings good tidings, proclaims salvation, and reminds us that God reigns, even their feet become beautiful!
How beautiful are your feet? I’m not talking about whether you wear open sandals in public or if you’re sporting the latest high-end pedicure. Do you use your feet to bring good news and good tidings to others? Do you use them to proclaim peace and salvation? When’s the last time you used your feet to go and tell others that God reigns?
Remember – Jesus seized you to be an unentangled runner, and an unentangled runner has to have beautiful feet to run the race well! So, get serious about beautifying your feet. Use them today to go and bless someone who needs a word of encouragement, some peace amidst their trouble, and a gentle reminder that God still reigns.
Jesus has seized you to be one with beautiful feet!
