Seized to Be A Speaker of God’s Very Words
Key Verse
If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.
1 Peter 4:11 (NIV)
Short Reflection
God is inviting you to speak in His Name! It requires for you and me to be in an intimate relationship with God, to invest time reading, memorizing, studying and meditating on the Scriptures to understand and obey them.
Read Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NIV): “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
The challenge begins at home!
We encourage you to answer these questions:
Am I reading the Bible every day?
Am I memorizing Bible verses?
When I read a passage of the Scripture, do I take time to understand how God wants me to apply that passage to my life?
Do I share with my family and friends what I am learning about God and the Bible? (in a natural, non-religious way)
Do I take time to read the Bible with my family?
At the end of each week, how much have I talked about what I am in Christ, more than everything I have done for myself?
These answers are an indicator for how much you are allowing God to take part in your life. We encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit every day to help you become an ambassador of God, that when you speak, you do so as one who speaks the very words of God.
You are seized to be a Speaker of God’s Very Words!
This is the second in the “Seized to Be An Ambassador of Christ” series of blog posts and is a special submission from Hector and Margarita Rivas from The Potter’s House Association, our partner in Guatemala.
