May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:5-6 (NIV)
The ‘All for One’ family is practicing getting along. We end selfish fighting and, with God’s help, learn to endure one another in love, pleasing our Lord. We demonstrate together Christ’s attitude living in us!
How? We are inspired wanting to please Jesus, learning from Him with fixed gaze. He paid an enormous price for us, and in love we will want to become like Him.
Yet walking together gets hard. Where do we find the strength together for this tough race? We learn so much from Jesus’ demonstrated patience toward others. Shut your natural eyes to polish the lenses of your ‘eyes of faith’. Do you see the eternal goal ahead? God helps us each as we read and learn from scripture and Paul tells us in Colossians to keep working with all our heart.
So, as you run on, are you travelling alongside your fellow ‘athlete’ in love? Is that endurance ‘gene’ growing so you can gather speed? Study God’s ways to run better and with God’s family alongside and bring pleasure to the Lord.
Lord, let this reader and I be “All for One”, and of those unity seeds we need to plant to answer your prayer, may we remember to embrace the endurance which You so graciously grant to us.
