Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Romans 15:7 (NIV)
God has penetrated our darkness through Jesus’ love gift of life. By his acceptance of us, we are cleansed, forgiven and set right for eternity. We are forevermore his beloved children (1 John 4:9-10). Previously our sin-soaked broken lives were a barrier between us and God. But now we know that He who knew no sin, became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). No longer lost to him, God calls us his children (1 John 3:1).
Accepted by God, we are now members of his very family. You and I can hardly believe this amazing gift of love and adoption. We deserve nothing of this kind. Having earned the very opposite and like the apostle Paul, we boast in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 6:14) as to how we earned God’s acceptance.
We bask in this privileged adoption as God’s sons and daughters and we are forever transformed from our former ways. God is praised and together we are his, for now and eternity.
Lord, let this reader and I be “All for One”, and of those unity seeds we need to plant to answer Your prayer, together may our lives be transformed as children of God who bring you praise and glory on earth and in heaven.
