Unity Seed – Put Others First: Sharing
Key Verse
All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
Acts 4:32 (NIV)
Short Reflection
The believers referred to in this verse found it a profound Christian commitment to take care of the physical needs of their fellow spiritual brethren. The wealthy believers exhibited a purely selfless attitude towards their possessions for the sake of helping fellow believers while even those who lived within limited means were able to give whatever they could to assist the less privileged brothers and sisters in terms of material possessions and necessities of life. As a result of this attitude and act of charity towards each other, the needy brethren in the church were able to meet their daily living requirements while following Christ with all their heart, mind and soul.
Therefore, even until today, sharing still remains a powerful aspect of following Christ’s teachings while extending the Heavenly Kingdom. Thus, you are expected to reflect God’s goodwill and charity towards each other in your daily life. As Christ was able to show His followers how to selflessly share, you should therefore follow His example and share your material belongings with the needy so as to depict the true image of God in your daily life as you extend his kingdom.,
Lord, let this reader and I be “All for One”, and may we learn to share with each other so as to bring glory to Your name.
