As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1-3 (NIV)
Do you realize that you have been “called”? And do you realize the One calling you is none other than Jesus Himself?
God is looking to and fro throughout the earth to find those who are willing to respond enthusiastically to that calling. You don’t need to be any superstar. Look what He did through His motley crew of disciples – they went out and changed the world. He could do the same through you. We have already learned that it’s His power, not our own, that leads to a result that goes far beyond what we could think or imagine.
As we embrace the calling Jesus has placed on each of our lives, we will become “All for One”. Jesus wouldn’t have it any other way. We will not only celebrate our own calling – we will celebrate the calling of others.
Lord, let this reader and I be “All for One”, and may we embrace this calling you have placed on each of our lives.
This is the first in the “Know your Calling” series of blog posts.
