Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
Psalm 119:165 (NIV)
In our world today, we are looking and longing for peace. It is difficult to find due to conflicts and strife. Many other things take away our peace – things like death, fighting, sicknesses, poverty, etc., but to mention a few. This is because of sin. People have ignored the law of God. They do not love to read the law of God. We can only attain peace if we love God. The foundation of peace is the law of God.
The Psalmist highlights this in our Kew Verse: – “great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble”.
When the law of God rules our motives, then we are at peace and the peace of God will rule in us. People who are ruled by the love of the law of God are at peace, even when they face troubles outside but still enjoy great peace with an abundance of inner light. People who feed on God’s words will not quarrel with anything that God does.
If we want to experience perfect peace, let’s obey what God commands us to do. And a good place to start? Why not John 14:15: “If you love me, keep my commands.” May God bless you on your Path to Perfect Peace.
