The Path to Perfect Peace – Center on the Spirit: Peacemakers

Key Verse

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:26-27 (NIV)

Short Reflection

The Bible says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9, NIV). The children of God are called to be peacemakers and this is who we are. Our Father in heaven is a peaceful God and loves peacemakers. We cannot end all of the troubles in the world that are disturbing peace, but we can refrain from taking part in disturbing the peace that God has given us.

Read our Key Verses again. The Holy Spirit is the life giver. Without Him, we can’t live the Christian life. The presence of the Holy Spirit makes it possible for us to not be troubled or fear but have peace. That same Spirit makes us peacemakers. The Holy Spirit in us makes our relationship with God enjoyable and unbreakable. This is the perfect peace we need and for which we long.

“Peace I leave with you.” This is what He left to his disciples and all of His followers: peace. Peace with Him. Peace within. Peace with others. We are to be makers of peace. My dear friends, peace stands for reconciliation, love and everything good. We should be at peace with God by first accepting Christ as our Savior. The Holy Spirit then becomes our living link to perfect peace through Jesus Christ our Savior. If your heart is troubled, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Christ’s peace. Then go make peace.
