The Path to Perfect Peace – Exalt the Prince of Peace: The Greatness of His Peace

Key Verse

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)

Short Reflection

We exalt the Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus Christ, reigning in our hearts! Do we indeed – at all times, in all circumstances? Is it evident that the Mighty God is reigning in us? Even when the enemies of His Kingdom taunt us, accuse us, shake us? Even when our fragile hearts almost give up, when loved ones turn their backs, when sickness and death creep in, and when all we see around is brokenness, all hopes crumbling down?

When I am terribly shaken, what embraces me is His presence, manifested in His Word and revealed in fervent and persistent prayer to our Almighty God. What about you?

He reigns! There is no other logic I can hold on to except that “… in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:17)

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe…” (Hebrews 12:28)
