Mission Possible – Vibrant Relationship with the Creator: Through Christ, Part 2

Key Verse

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Short Reflection

In our last post, we laid the foundation to how we will be able to “do all things”. It can only come “through Christ” – a vibrant relationship with Jesus. That is the very first stop if we are ever going to be able to experience palpable kingdom presence and be able to extend that presence to others.

A vibrant relationship with our Creator starts with the vertical relationship with Him. It is nestled in this awe that God is even mindful of us. (“What is man that you are mindful of Him?” – Psalm 8:4a) Even more mind boggling is that He wants one-on-one time with us (“Go into your closet…” – Matthew 6:6) and constant fellowship with us (“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17). He wants to take great care of us (“Look at the birds of the air…” – Matthew 6:26) and gave up so much for us to experience His kingdom here and now (“…On earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10).

This is a God who longs for an intimate, vibrant relationship with us! Why? Because He loves us. But also because He longs for not only us, but others, to experience His kingdom, and the primary agents He is going to work through to extend His kingdom to others are you and me.

The only way we will ever experience palpable kingdom presence is if we maintain a vibrant vertical relationship with God. It doesn’t stop there. We will experience palpable kingdom presence much more deeply if we step beyond the vertical relationship with God into a horizontal relationship with others through service. That’s when being able to “do all things” becomes super exciting and leads to an even more vibrant relationship with your Creator.

Remember Jesus words – “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
