Matthew 25:35 (NIV)
Jesus was not one to mince words or set the bar comfortably low. He calls those who want to be His disciples to an extremely high standard – join Him in extending the kingdom of heaven to earth!
So, you have to take note of how directly He speaks to His audience here in Matthew 25. No one could look around and pass the buck to the others in the crowd. Jesus repeats the word “you”, “you”, “you”. There can be no doubt who He was expecting to take action.
The same is still true today. A key step towards experiencing “palpable kingdom presence” is to make certain our communities are safe, peaceful, and welcoming, especially for the strangers in our midst. Who is Jesus calling to join Him in this mission? You.
This is the second in the “Ensure Safe, Peaceful, and Welcoming Communities” series of blog posts on our Journey to Palpable Kingdom Presence.
