Shifting Focus: Choosing to Magnify Christ

Key Verse

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” – Psalm 34:3 (NLT)

As disciples of Christ, our most magnified parts should reflect a Christ_like lifestyle, yet we struggle because we often focus on what life is throwing at us. It is easy to get angry, afraid and overwhelmed by the problems we face which are prone to inflate when we dwell on them and as a result “Magnify”

You might be thinking “that’s not me” but we are all guilty of this at one point or another, oftentimes unconsciously because to magnify is to make something larger than it is, increasing and exaggerating its effect or importance. When you find yourself thinking about that one thing longer than you should then you are on a fast track to magnifying it.

Instead, shift your focus to thinking of who God is and  His sovereignty and faithfulness. Magnifying God’s goodness allows us to experience Him exponentially, evidently seen when He is glorified through our thoughts, words and actions thereby acknowledging and revealing His majesty and splendour and also, describing and representing Him as admirable.

Making God the center of your life magnifies Him and leads to multiplying. The choice to magnify God above all else positions our hearts to become better stewards of His grace, and through our lives, we actively participate in advancing His Kingdom on earth.
