Minimize Me, Maximize God, and Multiply

Key Verse

“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.” John 3:30 (NLT)

Are you willing to lose the spotlight in order to light up the world?

We live in a world that says, “Make it about you!” But true impact begins when we step aside and let God take charge. When we minimize ourselves and maximize God, we don’t shrink. Instead, we shine with His glory.

This isn’t about thinking less of yourself; it’s about making more room for Him. Pride, ego, and self centredness crowd our hearts, but when we surrender, God fills that space with purpose, power, and heart for others. And from there, multiplication begins.

So what does it look like to live this out?

It starts with refocusing our thoughts. We shift from self-centered thinking to setting our minds on God’s character, His goodness, faithfulness, and truth. Then comes worship, giving Him the highest place in our hearts. We lay down idols like ambition, comfort, and control and choose to praise Him above all.

We also love and obey Him, not just out of duty but out of devotion. To minimize self is to trust His way over ours, to align our lives with His Word, and to find joy in doing His will.

Finally, we make Him known. We don’t seek applause for ourselves but use our lives to point others to Jesus. When we proclaim His greatness, we multiply His presence in the world. This is how we multiply, not by striving but by surrendering. When we decrease, He increases. When we give Him space, He multiplies His work through us in our families, communities, and generation.
