Multiplying Through Sacrificial Sharing

Key Verse:
“A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity ,all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:43-47(NLT)

A while back, my pastor challenged us with a question that has stayed with me.
After giving your tithe, do you say, “Thank God, I’ve given Him what belongs to Him” and then move on as though the remaining ninety percent is yours to manage? Or do you pause and ask God, “Lord, what would You have me do with the rest?”

The early church didn’t place limits on what they would give for Kingdom work. This passage reflects their joyful generosity. The early believers were fully surrendered to God’s lordship, and through that, the Lord added to their numbers, far beyond what anyone could have imagined. Sacrificial giving is obviously not an easy path, especially at a time when the world has grown more individualistic. Yet as followers of Jesus, we are called to live others-centered lives. In a time when the world is ailing and becoming increasingly self-focused, may this be our moment to rise and use our resources for palpable Kingdom presence. May we ask God not only what to give, but how to steward everything we have for His Kingdom, because when we place the full 100 percent in His hands, He multiplies it far beyond anything we could imagine. And the Kingdom grows!

Finally, as the PEER Servants family, this season is always an important one as we mark and give toward the Celebration Offering. I’d love to encourage us to continue praying and trusting God to help us reach our fundraising goal this year. And as we pray, may the Lord provide, and also enable us to give toward His work among our partners.

If you are able to give and have not yet done so, click the orange button below and choose which of the 16 available Causes you would like to support.
