Filipino children who once lived on the streets now have a comfortable and safe place to learn.
The streets of Manila are no place for a child to try to survive. The Center for Community Transformation (CCT) has been extending more of the kingdom of heaven to the materially poor in the Philippines for over 25 years. Their large microfinance program generates a surplus that allows them to fund many programs for the most vulnerable – including a fantastic residential and academic program for children and youth who used to live on the streets. Jesus said that one sign of the kingdom of heaven was the last becoming first – through the vision and hard work of the CCT staff, that’s what is happening among these children and youth in the Philippines. PEER Servants would like to grant at least $50,000 to CCT in 2016. The funds will go towards providing for the living and education expenses of these children and youth, transforming a microfinance branch into a holistic community center in one of the materially poorest parts of Manila, and capacity building for the CCT staff. 100% of your donation will go to programs empowering the materially poor in the Philippines. PEER Servants gets quarterly program reports from CCT while maintaining regular calls and making generally annual visits that make certain funds sent to CCT are used well.
