Our Discipleship Blog

Discipleship. Jesus’ Core Strategy.

Jesus had a great vision: for the kingdom of heaven to come to earth. It was no small task, and it would take people willing to give up everything to make it possible. Those people are called disciples, and it is the desire of every disciple to join Jesus in embracing, experiencing, and extending the kingdom.

PEER Servants chooses a kingdom-centric discipleship theme every year that shapes the spiritual encouragement of our volunteers. The discipleship training takes place in larger chapter meetings, smaller discipleship groups, mobile phone apps, and online through this blog. Blog contributors include our PEER Servants volunteers, board and staff members from our partners, and other friends. We hope these posts will encourage you in your desire to live like Jesus and thereby extend His amazing kingdom to others.

2026 Theme: Loving Like Jesus

In 2026, as PEER Servants we are centering our life, service, and witness around one of Jesus’ clearest and probably to most of us, challenging invitations: to love like He loves.

Jesus said, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

— John 13:34–35 (NLT)

This is not a casual or comfortable love. It is a love that is intentional, sacrificial, patient, truthful, and deeply present. It is a love that crosses borders, cultures, and differences. It is a love that shows up in classrooms, communities, homes, churches, and hard places. It is a love that reflects Jesus so clearly that the world cannot miss Him.

As PEER Servants Global Family, we believe that lasting transformation flows not only from what we do, but from how we love. Our mission to empower people through our various initiatives, service, and relationships is grounded in this truth.

This year, we are asking ourselves honest questions:

  • What does it look like to love like Jesus in our daily lives?
  • How do we love across differences, tension, and discomfort?
  • How do we embody Christ’s love in the way we lead, teach, mentor, serve, and partner with others?

Throughout 2026, this blog will be a shared space where members of the PEER Servants family, across physical regions, cultures, and callings, reflect on what it means to love like Jesus in real and practical ways. These stories, insights, and testimonies are meant to encourage, challenge, and invite all of us deeper into Christ-centered living.

Our prayer is that as we love like Jesus, the world will not only hear about Him, but recognize Him through us.

Join us on our journey of “Loving Like Jesus” and see what’s described in this Palpable Kingdom Presence Grid become reality for many around the world.

No Coincidences in the Kingdom

I am God, and there is no other;I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ -Isaiah 46:9–10 There are...

When Love Tells the Truth

Jesus showed us that loving people does not always mean saying what is easy or comfortable. Sometimes love requires us to speak a difficult truth. But the question is not simply whether we speak the truth rather it is how and why we speak it. In John 8:1–11, Jesus encounters...

Healed To Love

We all carry places in our lives that need His healing, wounds from relationships, family, disappointment, rejection, loss, or seasons of deep struggle. Yet admitting that we need healing can be difficult. We often learn to rely on ourselves and hide our weaknesses. But Jesus invites us to humility and...
